Autumn Resonance with Katie

Do you need some time for YOU? Would you like to feel grounded, in your body and with a sense of easeful calm of body, mind and spirit? Autumn Resonance is a practice for exactly this 🍂🤎🍁

In Chinese Medicine theory, there are five natural elements that exist within us, as they do in nature. Each season belongs to a particular element and has unique correspondences. When we study nature’s patterns and cycles, we can learn how to support our own health and stay well year-round.

The Metal element belongs to the season of Autumn. We depart from the expansive, endless days of summer and hunker down into routine and structure.

The Lungs and Large Intestine meridian systems belong to the Metal element, and they play a very important role in our overall health and wellbeing. The focus of Autumn turns to strengthening the Lungs and Large Intestine, gathering inspiration, and practice that which we observe in nature: letting go.

Join Katie for an evening of Qi Gong, Breathwork and Yin Yoga, these practices have an affinity with TCM and will be oriented around the meridians of the Lung, Large Intestine and element of Metal.

108 Sun Salutations

108 Sun Salutations

ROUND TWO!! Who’s with us?? Yes, you read that correctly… 108 Sun Salutations.

As the number may be intimidating, don’t let it steer you away from coming along.  This single focused practice moves us into meditation by silencing the mind, allowing us space to be fully with ourselves and our breath. It is believed the fire built during this practice to be extremely cleansing and detoxifying not only for the body but also for the mind and heart. The continuous movement of Sun Salutations helps activate prana to move stagnant energy within the body so we can get in touch with ourselves and set new intentions for the next season. It will require surrender, patience, and an open mind. Are you up for the challenge?

Why 108?

The number 108 is a significant number in many aspects of the universe. It appears in ancient texts with 108 Pithas and Upanishads. The mala prayer beads containing 108 beads. In Vedic culture, 108 is seen as the number of wholeness and existence. There are 54 letters in the Sanskrit alphabet consisting of both masculine and feminine, 54 x 2= 108. The list goes on.. we’ll tell you more about the number 108 at the practice.

Why December 22?

As we will be experiencing the summer solstice on December 22, we thought it would be a great time for this cleansing practice. The summer solstice symbolises nourishment and hope. As we move from darkness to light, our summer sun reminds us of the hope that light brings. While we honour and SALUTE THE SUN, we can lean towards nurturing ourselves and others, just as the sun nurtures us.

Interwoven ~ YOGA X AYURVEDA

Interwoven - Yoga x Ayurveda
Facilitator: Skaya Hedstrom

Weaving together the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda with creative 5 elemental sequencing and the art of language. A heart felt offering that combines Skaya’s love for Ayurveda, the joy of creative flows and how language influences our experience.

‘Adaption on an individual basis relative to time and circumstances is the essence of both Yoga and Ayurveda.’ Dr David Frawley

What to expect:
A deep dive into Ayurveda focusing on the Doshas - Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Learn how these energies influence us as individuals and the world around us. Ayurveda teaches that the individual is a microcosm of the macrocosm of the world around us. With Mother Nature moving in rhythms, Ayurveda guides us to practice awareness and cultivate routines that form a healthy embodied lifestyle so that we may find alignment and harmony.

Ayurveda acknowledges that there are daily rituals(dinacharya) and seasonal cycles (ritucharya) that influence the quality of our lives. Through Asana (physical postures), meditation and pranayama (breath practices) we’ll explore the 5 elements - air, ether, fire, earth and water. This will give rise to body intelligence - instinctively healing ourselves and assisting others to find balance.

We’ll explore tools for creative sequencing, effective cueing and the art of language. The focus is curating practices that align with nature’s rhythms and supports harmony of the body, mind and heart. Inner wisdom becomes our default.

What’s included?
◦ Welcome breakfast.
◦ Daily Ayurveda discussions.
◦ Daily sequencing, art of language and methodology sessions.
◦ Teaching mentorship.
◦ Training manual.
◦ 1 x Ayurvedic Consultation

What if I’m not a teacher?
Interwoven is an enriching lifestyle experience to immerse yourself in, regardless if you teach.

$695 Early Bird before 31st July

Winter Resonance

Winter Resonance is a seasonal offering using multi modalities all designed to bring harmony and balance to your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual self during the season of Winter. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, health is achieved by living in balance with nature and the seasons. Winter, the season of the Water Element, is the season for slowing down, reflecting, and conserving our resources.

This season is associated with the kidneys, bladder, and adrenal glands and the time of year when these organs are most active, accessible, and even vulnerable. They are more receptive to being restored, nurtured, and energized. At the same time, it is also when they can become easily depleted. Using Breathwork, Qi Gong, Yin Yoga and Meditation.

Winter Resonance with Katie is an invitation to take time to nurture, restore and balance yourself with some deep introspection.

Mother's Day Heart Revival

Mother's Day Heart Revival
- a celebration of motherhood -

It takes someone brave to be a mother, someone strong to raise a child, and someone special to love someone more than herself.

It is in our love of a child, or a partner, or a passion that we can realise our vulnerability. The true signature and perhaps even the miracle of human love is helplessness, and all the more miraculous because it is a helplessness which we wittingly or unwittingly choose.

We are offering a nurturing retreat to reconnect to your authentic emotional heart.

Through somatic movements we can stimulate the vegus nerve, and find an internal switch. A switch that pivots everything inward to slow down and to soften, to nurture and rekindle our divine pranic spirit .

An offering of love!
